Zondus seeks to insert electrification technologies into the highly standardized international freight shipping ecosystem with minimal disruption while stimulating an estimated 50-80% reduction in the use of fossil fuels.  The R&D effort seeks to understand the combination and application of several new and evolving technologies for use in dramatically reducing the fuel requirements for the movement of freight in the global supply chain.  A reimagined shipping container ecosystem can virtually eliminate the CO2 emitted in the supply chain by collecting, storing, and using energy from sunlight shining onto the freight that is being moved.
